Ingredients
- 1 package of frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 1/2 cup of smoked salmon, sliced
- 1/4 cup of cream cheese, softened
- 1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1/4 cup of chopped fresh dill
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon of capers, chopped
Preparation Steps
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the puff pastry to a thickness of about 1/8 inch. Cut into small squares, about 3 inches per side.
- In a small bowl, mix together the cream cheese, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Spread a small amount of the cream cheese mixture onto each pastry square, leaving a 1/2 inch border around the edges.
- Top each pastry square with a slice of smoked salmon, a sprinkle of chopped dill, and a few capers.
- Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg for a golden glaze.
- Fold the pastry squares in half to form triangles, pressing the edges to seal.
- Place the canapés on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
