Ingredients
  • 4 duck breasts (6 oz each)
  • 1 cup cherry compote
  • 1/2 cup port wine
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh thyme for garnish
Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Season the duck breasts with salt, pepper, thyme, and garlic powder.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the duck breasts for 2-3 minutes per side.
  4. Transfer the duck to a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until cooked to desired doneness.
  5. While the duck is cooking, reduce the port wine and cherry compote in the skillet over medium heat until syrupy.
  6. Add balsamic vinegar to the skillet and stir to combine.
  7. Once the duck is cooked, let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  8. Serve the sliced duck with the cherry-port sauce spooned over the top and garnished with fresh thyme.
