Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup pecan halves
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Preparation Steps
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour and confectioners' sugar. Add softened butter and mix until a dough forms.
- Press the dough into a 9-inch tart pan with a removable bottom. Chill for 10 minutes.
- Bake the crust for 20-25 minutes or until lightly golden. Let cool completely.
- In a small saucepan, combine granulated sugar, corn syrup, and 1/4 cup of heavy cream. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat and simmer for 5-7 minutes or until caramelized.
- Stir in remaining 1/4 cup of heavy cream, vanilla extract, and pecan halves. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Pour the caramel mixture into the cooled tart crust and sprinkle with salt.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
