Ingredients
- Orgeat syrup (1/4 cup), Milk (1 1/2 cups), Rose water (1 tsp), Ground cinnamon (1 tsp), Ground cardamom (1/2 tsp), Salt (1/4 tsp), Cornstarch (2 tbsp)
- Rose petals for garnish
Preparation Steps
- In a medium saucepan, whisk together the rose water and orgeat syrup. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until heated through.
- Add the milk, cinnamon, cardamom, and salt to the saucepan. Whisk until well combined and the mixture is smooth.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and a splash of the hot milk mixture until smooth. Return the saucepan to low heat and gradually add the cornstarch mixture, whisking constantly.
- Continue cooking for 2-3 minutes, or until the mixture thickens to your liking.
- Strain the sahlab into mugs or cups. Serve immediately, garnished with rose petals if desired.
