Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup semolina flour
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup dried figs, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon rose water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg, beaten
Preparation Steps
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, semolina flour, and salt.
- Add the chopped walnuts, dried figs, cardamom, and cinnamon to the bowl and stir to combine.
- Gradually add the rose water and melted butter to the bowl, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and pliable.
- Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball.
- Flatten each ball into a disk shape and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the tops with the beaten egg and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
